Wayne Cente, 1L Representative - English Common Law

Wayne Cente is a 1L student in the English Common Law (JD) Program at the University of Ottawa. He is committed to representing the interests of his fellow Black 1L students and connecting people to opportunity. He desires to be build community amongst Black 1L students while serving as their liaison to the rest of the BLSA Ottawa executive team. 

Wayne graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship and Strategy. During his time at Ryerson, he became a serial entrepreneur and aspired to become a professional problem solver. Wayne’s purpose is to serve changemakers by helping them to fulfil their potential and to advocate for those in need.   

As a 1L Representative, Wayne will promote events, share updates, resources, and meaningful opportunities with other Black 1L students to help emphasize Black excellence and representation within the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law and the legal community. 

Wayne intends on pursuing a career in Business Law. He is excited to support members of the Black community in structuring and protecting their ideas, resources, wealth; and sharing the different avenues available to seek equity and justice. 

In his spare time, Wayne enjoys coaching young and resourceful individuals; bingeing movies and tv series; running, and having walking conversations in new areas. Do not hesitate to reach out to Wayne for any reason you deem fit.
