Hello All! My name is Shadé Edwards (she/her) and I am looking forward to being your Co-President for the 2021-2022 year! BLSA has been an extremely supportive space for me during the duration of my studies and I am very much looking forward to giving back to the club in an executive capacity.
I am a 3L in the English Common Law Program and will be completing my final year virtually. Prior to attending the University of Ottawa, I studied at the University of Toronto. I am particularly passionate about the intersection at which social justice and transformative change meet, as well as the ways in which the law can be used as a tool for the expansion of the rights of historically excluded individuals and communities. My legal interests include human rights, constitutional law, and commercial litigation.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, spending time with my loved ones, and playing video games.
