Jaiscelle Aristorenas, Co-President
English
Jaiscelle is in her third year of law school at the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law program. Prior to law school, Jaiscelle completed her undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies at Queen’s University.
During her years at Queen’s, Jaiscelle was very active in her community. Her commitment to advancing black academics through a focus on education and equity led her to serve on the executive team of the Queen’s Black Academic Society. In Jaiscelle’s second year of law school, she was appointed as the National Mentorship Representative for the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada.
Jaiscelle is most excited about providing a sense of community and support by connecting black law students to one another. Her goal is to help students develop relationships with new students, other equity-seeking groups, alumni, and the legal community.
Her legal interest is Corporate Law, more specifically Securities and M&As. In her free time, Jaiscelle enjoys attending dance classes, practicing yoga, and watching musicals.
